We would like somebody to rent our home while we adventure to Mexico for a couple years (or more). We would like somebody who is interested in growing food in the high tunnel and/or utilizing the field for crops or hay. It's a bonus if you would like to keep and care for our goats, chickens, and barn cats (they help eat the mice). It is a requirement not to use conventional pesticides and herbicides. We use neem oil.
We have a longer term vision for the land to start a permaculture orchard shaped like the seed of life.

Quality of Land
We have 6.8 acres and 6.8 water shares. The front portion of the property contains our house, high tunnel, barn, shed, and driveway. The rest of the land can be utilized for crops or grazing. We let our goats graze around the property.

Farm Infrastructure
Description of Farm Infrastructure
We have a big mobile chicken tractor, a goat barn with pallet fencing, a moveable electric fence, and other areas for more chickens, rabbits, quail, and/or other farm animals. We currently have five female goats and 12 chickens. We have an incubator that can be used to hatch fertilized eggs to increase egg production and/or use as meat birds. The younger chickens are Bresse, great egg producers and meat birds.

Description of Housing

Current Production
Additional Production Details
This was part of a large plot of farm land owned by Ralph Woods. It has been split and we have 6.8 acres. We setup irrigation infrastructure, a goat barn, a chicken tractor, shed, and home. In part of the field we planted potatoes. We have a greenhouse and have grown a lot of tomatoes using the single stem method. There are plenty of tomato hooks available for the tenant(s) to use. We have a small shack by the road intended to be utilized as a farm stand. The location is visible from Hwy 550, about 6 miles south of Montrose, the one road that everyone takes to travel to Telluride, Ouray, Silverton, and Durango.
