Looking for people who appreciate the seasonal rhythm of farm life and deeply value food from the earth to the table
As we grow older we wish to farm, but in a slower fashion and without so much on our plates, therefore we are looking for a person/couple to live on the land, farm beside us and grow on the landscape. We want this to be a collaboration as we will still grow our garlic every year, some specialty crops and have egg layers as well. We want to share our market both space with the new farmers, introducing them to the community which we've established the last 20 years. Occasionally we will also come to market ourselves to see friends and stay in touch with our community. The market garden will remain no-till and non-certified organic.

Quality of Land
We have a diverse landscape with many different opportunities for the right person (people). There is a dryland pasture that is under utilized and we'd love to see livestock grazing it. We have a large fenced in and irrigated garden space with tunnels and a wash/pack that has space for others to utilize.

SongHaven is a twenty acre property with forest, dryland grass pasture, orchards and a market garden. Our current business is diverse and consists of a market garden supplying the Cortez Farmers Market for twenty years, a local grocery store and an Etsy storefront. We also have a small egg layer flock and dairy goat herd. We've been farming using organic methods since 2005.

SongHaven Farm was built with co-housing in mind and there are multiple buildings to live in as well as a shared kitchen space. We prefer that individuals are omnivores and have an interest in cooking and sharing in these experiences. We also prefer individuals who enjoy being in the flow and present with nature and each other. To us, this means unhooking from the attachment/addiction of the digital world most of the time. We'd prefer if interested individuals would come WWOOF with us to establish a relationship and determine if we are all a good fit together before moving ahead with a more official agreement.
