Hand-building a family farm in the San Luis Valley; seeking connections, mentorship, and workshops.

I own 5.2 acres in Costilla County, Colorado (San Luis Valley), where my family is hand-building our farm: fencing, water, and a sheep barn, with work continuing through 2027. A registered Navajo-Churro flock is arriving in fall 2027. I am joining Colorado Land Link for the landholder and community network, mentorship, and workshops. Long term, as our family grows, I hope to add acreage near our Costilla County ground and grow toward a larger holding. Our interests are heritage sheep (fiber and livestock), high-desert grazing, owner-built structures, and water storage.

Business Plan

I do not have one

Additional Details

We plan to raise registered Navajo-Churro sheep on high-desert grazing, with an emphasis on low-impact, land-stewarding practices as we learn. No certifications claimed at this time.

  • Small Animal Grazing
  • Fencing
  • Water Spigot

Equipment and Infrastructure Details

We are hand-building our own fencing, water storage, and sheep barn through 2027 on our own ground; for any future additional acreage, fencing and reliable water access would matter most.
