Young couple seeking regenerative ag and small livestock opportunity in Southern CO

Our goal is to work is to adapt regenerative agricultural and rotational/bale grazing methods to the semi-arid Southern region of Colorado to steward the soil, ground cover, and precious water resources of this area that is deeply important to us in a personal and historic sense. We also care deeply about engaging with our community and about closing food gaps, especially rural food deserts with quality and nutritious options. While we are new to agriculture, we have worked in habitat restoration and forestry and want to apply our skills to a new adventure that will bring more stability to our lives after being seasonal workers for so long!

Business Plan

  • Regenerative

Additional Details

We aim to use frequent rotational grazing on small pastures, bale grazing sheep to regenerate/maintain health in the soil and forage. We want to create monitoring transects to gauge progress in diversifying native forage for animal and soil health. We also aim to have a small amount of personal/food bank donation produce. We are participating in the CSU Master Gardener Program and want to be able to have a place to host knowledge swaps.
