Looking for a vegetable farmer interested in growing year-round in greenhouse and high tunnels outside Crestone.

Greenhouse and high tunnels perfect for year-round vegetable production on 3-acres available for lease. Formerly a vegetable farm supplying a farm-to-table restaurant, the 3 acre parcel is contiguous with a 256-acre parcel utilized for grazing by 2,400-acre Chokurei Yak Ranch.

Quality of Land

The greenhouse is 6,500 square feet and is designed for year-round production, with a 1 million BTU garn wood boiler with propane backup. The greenhouse is connected to a 1,350 square foot heated office and processing building that could be utilized for value-added production. Bathroom with a shower supplied by a domestic well. The greenhouse has a separate meter and can be irrigated through the winter. The high tunnels total 14,400 square feet and all have electric and are intended for seasonal growing. High tunnel plastic needs replaced.

This greenhouse was built in 2008 and began supplying an on-farm restaurant in 2009. I'd like to see this property get back to it's roots producing food for Crestone and San Luis Valley communities. Would explore reviving a farm-to-table-style restaurant with an interested party or see the property support value-added production. Farmer could sell product to local Crestone markets or Valley Roots Food Hub.
